I've planted the Aloe Vera for cookery many years, it is better planted under the whole time sun shining place. Yet, it's no harm to plant some in the sheds. My experience is: always keep only one plant in one pot, I mean you need to throw away those new born baby Aloe, or transplant them to other pots.
When you harvest the Aloe leaves, cut the leaves from the outside ring, the oldest and usually the biggest ones, wash the dirt off and wipe dry before you put them into plastic bag, keep them in the veggies drawer of you refrigerator.
